Innerhalb der Referendumsfrist wurden 55 638 Unterschriften gegen das Bundesgesetz vom 20. Dezember 2024 über den elektronischen Identitätsnachweis und andere elektronische Nachweise (E-ID-Gesetz, BGEID) eingereicht. Die Überprüfung durch die Bundeskanzlei hat ergeben, dass 55 344 der eingereichten Unterschriften gültig sind. Damit ist das Referendum formell zustande gekommen.
